Cruises to Cuba Suspended Until Further Notice

On June 4th, 2019, the US government declared that, effective immediately, travel to Cuba is no longer permitted. This new regulation includes travel from the US to Cuba by cruise ship. Cruises to Cuba have been halted and the various cruise lines will be replacing all Cuban ports on their itineraries.

Royal Caribbean Cruises to Cuba

Bookings within final payment sailing on revised itineraries:

  • A refund of 50% per stateroom of your cruise fare paid, as a credit to your onboard account. This amount will be based on your total cruise fare, excluding any taxes and fees. If your onboard spend does not reach this amount, the remaining balance will be refunded to your credit card on file once you've completed your cruise.
  • A refund for any pre-paid Royal Caribbean International Cuban shore excursions as a credit to your onboard SeaPass account.
  • Both of these credits can be use anywhere onboard and if you don't use them, they'll be refunded back onto your credit card on file.

Bookings outside final payment:

  • A 50% reduction of your cruise fare, excluding any taxes and fees. This amount will be discounted off of your current cruise fare and will be reflected on your reservation by Wednesday, June 12th, 2019.
  • If you paid your reservation in full, you'll automatically receive a refund for any over-payment. You should see this reflected on your credit card by June 19th, 2019. Please know, times may vary depending on your financial institution.
  • If you haven't yet paid in full, your remaining balance will be based on this 50% cruise fare reduction.
  • A refund for any affected pre-paid Royal Caribbean International Cuban shore excursions to your original form of payment.

If you wish to cancel your booking:

  • A full refund of any paid portion of your cruise fare to the original form of payment, including any non-refundable deposits.
  • You must cancel by:
    • June 7th, 2019 for sailings departing through June 19th, 2019.
    • June 19th, 2019 for sailings departing on or after June 23rd, 2019.
  • If you choose this option, you will not be provided additional compensation.

Carnival Cruises to Cuba

Guests will have the following options:

  • Remain on the sailing and receive a $100.00 per person onboard credit.
  • Move to another itinerary and receive a $50.00 per person onboard credit.
  • Cancel and receive a full refund.

Holland America Cruises to Cuba

Guests will have the following options:

  • Remain on their existing booked cruise: $100.00 per person shipboard credit
  • Choose another Caribbean cruise: $100.00 per person shipboard credit
  • Change to another cruise in any other destination: $50.00 per person shipboard credit
  • Cancellations without re-booking: Full refund of all monies paid to Holland America Line

NCL Cruises to Cuba

Sailings through and including September 2, 2019:

  • Sail the revised itinerary receive a 50% refund of the cruise fare paid as well as a 50% future cruise credit valid through December 31, 2020.
  • Cancel the booking and receive a full refund. If guests choose this option, Norwegian must be notified no later than June 11, 2019, midnight EST.
  • Visa fees arranged through Norwegian Cruise Line will be refunded and government taxes and fees will be adjusted accordingly. Any shore excursions purchased through Norwegian Cruise Line for Cuba will be refunded to original form of payment.

Sailings beyond September 2, 2019:

  • Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun Cuba sailings beyond September 2, 2019 will be automatically cancelled. New itineraries will be announced in the coming weeks. Refunds will be applied to the original form of payment.
  • For those guests impacted by these auto-cancellations, Norwegian is offering a 20% discount (off current cruise fare) on any new bookings on future sailings booked by August 5, 2019 and sailing no later than December 31, 2020.

MSC Cruises to Cuba

Guests will have the following options:

  • Remain on your currently booked sailing, and receive a $400.00 credit per stateroom on your shipboard account for onboard spending. If this credit is not fully used, MSC will refund the difference upon check-out. Any shore excursions in Havana that were pre-purchased will also be automatically refunded to your onboard account.
  • Move to another itinerary and MSC Cruises will waive cancellation fees and transfer any already paid funds to your new booking.
  • If you choose to cancel your cruise entirely, you will be subject to the normal cancellation policies.
