Aurora Expeditions Health & Safety Protocols

Aurora Expeditions prioritizes passenger well-being while navigating some of the most remote environments on Earth. Their health and safety protocols focus on prevention, onboard medical preparedness, and shipboard sanitation systems designed for small-ship expedition cruising.

• Advanced Ventilation: Ship cabins and public spaces utilize 100% fresh air circulation systems with zero air recirculation to maintain high air quality throughout the vessel.
• Sanitation Practices: Comprehensive cleaning protocols are maintained across all common areas and staterooms, with crew members thoroughly trained in maritime disinfection practices.
• Onboard Medical Care: Every voyage features a dedicated medical center staffed by an emergency doctor trained in remote area medicine. A medic also accompanies passengers during shore landings and excursions.
• Pre-Departure Screening: Passengers traveling on Polar or Discovery itineraries are required to submit a mandatory self-assessed Medical Assessment form between 90 and 45 days before embarkation to ensure they are physically fit for remote travel.
• Illness Management: Should a passenger present symptoms of an infectious illness during the voyage, standard shipboard medical evaluation, targeted isolation if deemed necessary by the doctor, and symptom management protocols are administered by the medical team.
